COMMISSIONS
A commissioned painting is an investment in a personal work of fine art. It is a wonderful way to capture a moment in time, a memory, a place or to honor someone special.
Dana works closely with you to decide on the look and feel of your painting and combines your vision with hers to create your commissioned painting.
WORKING PROCEDURES
1. Dana can easily work from your existing photo (must be high-quality) for portraits. Dana can also do a photo shoot on location (including your boat and family on the water).
2. Dana will confer with the you to determine the scope and concept of the painting from existing or new photos.
3. Once the painting concept and size are determined, a written agreement is prepared, and a size and final price and payment schedule is agreed upon.
4. For large formal portraits, at least one session is preferred to be arranged with the subject during which Dana will paint a small oil sketch or begin the full painting from life to record accurate skin tones, etc.
5. A nonrefundable deposit is required to begin work on larger commissions (18x24 or larger) to cover the cost of supplies. Delivery is arranged upon completion and final approval of the painting. Payments can be made through PayPal and Venmo.
6. The remaining balance is due, including the cost of frame and shipping, if applicable, when delivered, unless other payment options have been arranged.

Base Pricing is for unframed paintings in oil for one subject with no outside commission fees.. Additional figures or pets will affect the overall time and price.
